Pathé's answer to the patented HMV Lumiere was the cardboard cone speaker, the 'diffuser' which produces such a loud volume that the cabinet incorporates an acoustic volume control in the form of louvers in the closed lid operated by the brass nob on the RHS. The gramophone is in near perfect condition complete with a Pathé sapphire stylus and ten double sided Pathé records.
