Ram's anti-sex aid
This is a really splendid piece of Early Technology, the sort of item that makes dealing in this field such fun. I acquired this item from an old falmer in the west of Scotland who told me that his grandfather had several sets of these to hang round the young rams necks to inhibit their lust and interfere with any attempts they might be inclined to make in inpregnating their mothers. Judging from the excellent non-rusty condition of the two sets I bought they can't have had much exposure to the rain so maybe they were used indoors.
The balls are made of wood, (5cm in diameter), with blunt metal studs.
Age? certainly nineteenth century I would guess about 1870
